Need to get name from Saul-Paul. An ex-President of Oberlin Robert ... a student of John Wheeler's on black holes had a mid-life crisis and left Oberlin to become a Werner Erhard groupie in SF where I met him in 1974. He ran est Foundation and he had Lenny Susskind and a lot of famous physicists come to Werner's. Lenny writes about it on John Brockman's Edge Foundation webpage.

Werner WAS interested in UFOs and he was one of the funders of my PCRG described by Gary Zukav in the Dancing Wu Li Masters - the Jan 1976 Esalen month-long seminar with Werner, Tim Leary, Fritjof Capra all sorts of people.

Dr. Sarfatti,
I'm doing research into the connections between Oberlin College and the
UFO subject. I am currently teaching an experimental college course on
UFOs here at Oberlin.
I've discovered that John Mack and Budd Hopkins both went to school
here. Dr. David Jacobs is good friends with the current president, Nancy
Dye.
Edward Condon taught physics here for two years just before his historic
study of UFOs.
I ran across something that seemed to indicate that you went to school
here as well. Is this true? If so, do you know of any other connections
between Oberlin & UFOs?
Thank you,
Aaron Clark

I was never a student at Oberlin, but while at Cornell I spent a few weeks at Oberlin in the summer of 1964 with the Gilbert and Sullivan group at the Conservatory. We then went to the Highfield Theater at Cape Cod that Oberlin ran. Tim Jerome of BroadwayUSA.org has recordings of those shows. Some excerpts are on line at

Was The Nation published there then? I remember meeting someone from Oberlin then connected with it.

I was not thinking about UFOs then or physics very much - into the arts & left-liberal politics (Freedom Rides, Vietnam...) then. :-)
